While we await the opening ceremony of MIA 2007, let's recap. Saturday 19 May 2007 - Jojo Struys as Masters of Ceremonies treated us all to a tap dance performance accompanied by model friend Hannah Lo and percussionist friend Djoti. While Jojo tapped away, the sixteen Final 8 semi-finalists prepared for their turn to showcase their talent to a panel of judges.
Judges comprised of Luis Bok of Best Venue Sdn Bhd - the organisers of MIA2007, Nikki Yeo and Dominique Lonchant (breathing instructor for AF and PGL fame) from Go International Group Sdn Bhd - the event producers and Final 8 conceptualisers, Vin Wee from Water World Sdn Bhd and choreographer / cyber couture designer, Hideaki of Hideaki Fashion Studio.
On Sunday 20 May 2007, host Awal Ashaari took us through the afternoon as our contestants awaited the results. The organisers extend heartfelt thanks all contestants and their supporters involved in 'Quest for the Final 8'!

Following the announcement, The Final 8 were whisked away to prepare for a futuristic fashion extravaganza - choreographed by Hideaki and cyber couture by Hideaki Fashion House, makeup provided by Shu Uemura and hair by Dry Cut.

What is the Final 8?
In conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 programme, Best Venue Sdn Bhd – the official organisers of the Malaysia International Aerospace Adventure 2007 and its appointed Final 8 Ambassador event management company, Go International Group Sdn Bhd is in search of 8 intelligent and beautiful ambassadors for the MIA2007 show.Final 8 ambassadors represent the wonders of our universe - the eight planets in our solar system. Using eight ambassadors to personify the characteristics of each of the planets, this culminates in an educational futuristic fashion extravaganza. Contestants will go through a series of auditions. All fun and exciting activities are lined up while judges and the public select the Final 8 Ambassadors.
Auditions were held on 24 & 25 March 2007 at Hall 1, MVEC Midvalley. A total of 140 participants signed up.
The Top 20 Finalists were announced on 21 April 2007 at The Boulevard, Berjaya Times Square. The finalists went on to select their numbers. SMS voting begins and will run until 3pm, 20 May 2007.
Contestants will participate in a Futuristic Fashion Show and showcase their 'superpower talents' on 19 May 2007. The FINAL 8 finalists will be announced on 20 May 2007 between 3-6pm at The Oval, One Utama.
Once selected, off they go to the Malaysian International Aerospace Adventure 2007 expo which begins from 28 July - 30 September 2007 (please note change of date). Come to MIA 2007 and meet the FINAL 8 Ambassadors!
Crowning of the Queen of the Final 8 will be on 30 September 2007.

Rules & Regulations
This Contest is open to female participants aged 18 to 28 years.
Submission of entry form does not grant automatic eligibility for preliminary round participation.
Judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entertained upon announcement of winners. SMS voting accounts for 50% of the results, whilst a panel of judges comprising of the organisers and sponsors will influence the balance 50%.
The Top 20 finalist for the preliminary round will be informed via phone and e-mail.
Participants are required to be present at the venue chosen by the organisers at all times. Non-attendance at the designated venue, date and time set by the organisers would result in automatic disqualification.
Judging will be done on a points based system, based on performance, presentation, creativity and originality.
For the duration of the contest, participants must not be endorsed by any product or company.
Prizes are non-transferable or exchangeable.
No indecency, vulgarity or political statements or displays are allowed as part of any participant’s performance.
The selected 8 winners must make appearance at MIA2007 event every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm – 6pm representing MIA2007 Ambassador for public voting via SMS. Schedules and arrangement by event management. Exact times will be advised later.
Best Venue Sdn Bhd, Go International Group Sdn Bhd and selected Sponsors reserve the rights to use the names, photographs, audio/visual clips and entries of all participants for publicity, advertising and promotional purposes before, during and after the contest.
Best Venue Sdn Bhd, Go International Group Sdn Bhd and its Sponsors will not be held liable for any injuries or accidents that happen to participants throughout the course of the contest, audition day onwards till the closing ceremony.
